Welcome and thank you for your interest in Swipes for the Homeless! “Swipes,” as we have affectionately called our coalition, has been recognized by President Obama as a national leader in social innovation. We serve as the official hub for students who are taking their excess meal points and deciding to donate them where they’re needed. Since our start in the Fall of 2009 at the University of California, Los Angeles, Swipes for the Homeless has donated over 330,000 pounds of food nationally, organized homelessness education campaigns and contributed hundreds of hours of service to our local communities. The program has spread on to several other campuses and we hope yours will be next!
